Hi all,

Any ideas of the best way to recycle a load of old kit?

So far, I have:

1 x 7" generic ancient Android tablet
1 x Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (v old!)
a load of old DIMM RAM
A broken old iPad
About 10 HDD (not SSD)

And I'm sure I'll unearth some other old crap. The Nintendo DS and Sony PSP have been a result to find however and both still work! The DS even had a full battery despite being sat in a box for at least 8 years!

Is there a one stop shop I can post it all too? HDDs will not have anything sensitive or confidential.

Cheers,
Mark

There are a few local and regional companies accepting old tech to recycle for home schooling.

Might have missed the boat but worth a google.

I would never make an assumption on an HDD Mark - destroy them would be my advice ... drill through them or something

I completely agree with you there. The only thing is I probably wouldn't go as far as to destroy it, and just use Darik's Boot and Nuke in the past whenever I've sold hard drives.

It sounds like OP is looking to quickly get rid of them though, so that's probably not suitable.

I've found that computer components etc are some of the easiest things to sell quickly on ebay.

I'll make you right there... There's no hurry, but just a load of old crap lying around, and of no use to me.

I have a HDD caddy so will start the wipe process, one by one - then as you say, eBay the rest... It's just *very* old, like the Samsung Tablet is positively anicent!
