Struggling here with the advance of tech a bit!

What I've got...

Openreach box on the living room wall feeding a new sky router. WiFi in the east wing is fine. Solid 70Mbps. Happy with that. West Wing not so good, patchy low strength signal with lots of drop outs.

What I (think) I want...
Something to spread out/rebroadcast my signal.
I don't want powerline adapters.
I dont want different network names. I want 'house WiFi' everywhere, not 'house WiFi 1' upstairs and 'house WiFi 2' in the west wing etc....i dont want my devices switching between different network names.
I need to plug in one device by ethernet on the extension, hopefully into a mesh device. Don't want to run cables all over house.

Don't want a router/modem change ideally.

Will this do it?

Our what else do I buy?
Thankyou for reading this far!

See my thread here for one option...but sounds like you are looking at the right things.

I added two BT WholeHome mesh discs.

The Virgin connection is great but the superhub was terrible at wifi - poor range, drop-outs constantly - and since we moved to the mesh system it's been pretty much flawless. Rock solid, fast, one network id and two discs easily cover a big ground floor and a three bed upstairs.

I have a VELOP system with 4 nodes and it works great. We have 3 floors and the BT router struggled to get up onto the 3rd floor.
Also virtually zero coverage into the rear garden.

We have the master node in the hallway. This links to the office on the second floor which covers the second floor and the 3rd floor. Then another in the lounge which covers the garden nearest the house and one more in the garage which covers the garage and drive.

I followed the weapons grade wiffy thread and installed my asus zen ax mesh today. Boy oh boy. Impressive. I am getting wiffy in the neighbours garden and walking up the road. There are some great security features from the firewall to hiding the network name. Usually you have to pay a subscription for this level of security but its free. The firewall caused an issue when reinstalling my nest hello doorbell. I had to temporarily disable it to get the nest back on. Wi fi 6 and I already have some ax devices. It’s what I need because I will be getting a garden room and using it as an office so it’s good the signal strength is there. Anyhow it’s a bit dear but I reckon it’s an investment.

Did you get the 2 pack?

Do I need to do anything with my sky router/modem thing whatever it is?

Plug and play would you say?

All I eventually did was write to Sky HQ and explain to them in simple language "get it working or get it out of my house". Keeping the long story short, they got it working. Sky Q can be brilliant, when it works.

The eventual solution was to run a cable from the main Sky box, which is at one end of the house, to Sky booster in the middle of the house. Wireless connection from BT router to main Skybox. Total system is,
BT router
Booster half way along house
Main Sky Q box
Sky Q box cabled to a Sky booster downstairs
Wireless Sky booster upstairs
5x HD televisions.

I recently tried to install a music server but it simply wouldn't work. Decided it wasn't worth the hassle so reverted to stand-alone Hi Fis and count myself lucky the (mostly) wireless TV system is up and running.

I bought the two pack as I am moving soon to a three storey house.
