What app are you using for two factor authorisation and why? Looking at Authy, Google, Microsoft, any others? Advantages disadvantages?

I use Google for my Google account and Microsoft for my Hotmail and work Account. Both work the same by flashing an approved/deny notification up on my watch to select. Both do exactly what they say they do. No preference for either tbh.

What happens if you lose you phone or it dies , do the any of those apps have back-up?

To add I'm looking for something that will work with 3rd party log-ins , not just google or Hotmail email accounts.

I use authy mainly because the app can sync accounts to my phone, watch and desktop. I have it working with google mail, outlook, paypal, amazon etc. no problem. Microsoft was a bit of a fiddle because they prefer their own authenticator app which uses a different mechanism than what seems to be standard, but with a bit of effort it can be made to work with any authenticator app.

You can manage devices you have synced up on any other device if you lose a phone and need to revoke access etc.
