Dropped my phone twice in 2 days now and the screen is getting more and more cracked still works as I'm typing this on it.
So looking at replacing it (currently p20 pro)

Shortlist s21 ultra/plus, oneplus 9 pro, s20fe

Huge range of prices there obviously from 1300 to about 500

Usage web, TV streaming, camera so really anything will do other than for the camera part

I try to keep phones for 3 years if possible. Current contract is £4 on three with 4gb data as I work from home don't need huge amounts and 5g is not around here so don't need a 5g capable contract really

So

I picked up a refurbed Redmi Note 10 Pro to replace a S9+ with a broken screen for under £150 it's really really good.

The new note 10 Pro is just out and comes in at £219 and there are various vouchers flying around for £15 off via a friends referral

Had my S21 U for a few months now, if you want a decent camera its certainly one of the best on sale.

I've got this printed at home on to 60×40cm canvas and it looks fab.

Samsung recently updated portrait mode to work with the x3 optical lens and its really good.

.

Its a big phone though so if you are use to dropping the phone becaefrul!!

Samsung also drops prices randomly, if you keep an eye out you should be able to pick up a S21 U for under £900 these days.

I'm a fan of Samsung kit. Tend to keep mine longer than 3yrs - basically until the phone fails.

Invest in a case! I have a Spigen clear air cushion case. Mine's been dropped on its corner a few times and the screen is fine. I'm not sure it would have been without the case. Doesn't add a huge amount to the size (though obviously some) and the texture on the case makes it less likely to slip out of your hands. (When I take the case off I actually feel the phone's too thing now smile).

I also use the film (not glass) screen protectors (I think the ones I have at the moment are G-colour). These add nothing to the size, I don't notice any material drop off in screen image quality and they really help against scratches etc. Being film rather than glass they work much better on Samsung phones with Edge screens. They're always a pain in the arse to fit without air bubbles mind.

If anyone from Corning is watching, get me on your Gorilla Glass test programme. I don't think I especially abuse phones, but I have a Marvel Superhero power of being able to get scratches on Gorilla Glass just by looking at it!

I do have a case on my p20 just never when I drop it lol

Always when I'm cleaning it I usually forget to put it back on then bang falls out of a pocket etc

I'm even considering a iPhone 12 max ultra Pro thing. Never had an iPhone never agreed with apple and it's decisions regarding hardware specs etc but they seem to have dragged it up-to-date now
