Shutting down a PC.
Discussion
OK, how come you boot up, check your e-mail, surf the web a little, and thats it, you shut down the PC and it doesnt take very long. But other times you do the same thing and it takes ages and ages, but you have only had the same applications running and nothing else as when it shuts down very quickly.
Maybe the websites ?
Certain websites can cause slow downs.
Some websites with alot of animations video content can slow down your pc.
** To test this**
Start your web browser
visit www.google.com do
a couple of searchs (but dont click any pages) then shut down.
Repeat again - is the shut down time the same ?
Now visit your usual websites /web mail pages and then shutdown. What about now ?
Good Luck !

It pretty much depends on how much of your page file you use.
If you use loads of it then the Windows files that are needed to shut Windows down must be paged back into memory from the hard disk swap file (virtual memory).
You use your page file more by running memory-hungry applications simultaniously.
