Advice sought...

I need to buy half-a-dozen laptops that will be used solely for word processing and internet research.

They'll be loaned out during the day, then charged up overnight. They don't need to be bulletproof, as they only need to last a year.

What's the cheapest way of doing this?

Chrome book? They are so good as a basic computer can’t see why anyone would use a “low end” windows machine.

Or MacBook Air, I know the upfront cost will be high, but the resale value will also be significant. They seem to sell at £150-200 discount from new on eBay.

I'd second the suggestion of Chromebooks, and use Google Docs for word processing.

Something like a Lenovo T450 ex Corporate.
8GB and SSD Drive preferable

Lots on Ebay for about £200
Sellers that specialise in selling on ex-work machines and have multiples for sale
