iPhone a bit of a revelation
Discussion
I’ve had an iPad since the iPad 2 days but never had an iPhone currently have a 12.9 inch 2020 iPad Pro which is a great device.
Never really thought about the phone as I have a mid range Android phone supplied by work.
It just so happens that due to family upgrades we had an iPhone 6 kicking around which I’ve adopted. The battery was knackered so I’ve had that replaced and I’ve been using it now on pay as you go for a couple of weeks.
It’s pretty amazing really….. Although the 2019 Samsung is technically the better device with more Rom and cpu cores I’m finding the old 2015 iPhone 6 much more enjoyable to use.
I’ve abandoned the work phone to work duties only and I’m actually considering looking at the iPhone 13 when released.

Apple don’t sell millions of the things because of hype, marketing or fashion alone. They are very good, long lasting and reliable devices and work seamlessly in a solid ecosystem.
I’ve never really seen the attraction of the iPhone in fact as a techy I’ve favoured Android. Not any more
I actually still use my iPad 2 to run certain stuff and that’s god knows how old….Im not sure my 15 year old will ever talk to me again though if I buy an iPhone 13 Pro Max….. Shame !

Work made me have an iPhone - I've been Android for years.
Both work. The iPhone has better fingerprint recognition, and Lastpass is better on the iPhone too, but a huge amount of the iPhone UI is daft. You can't put icons wherever you want on the screen! Phone is halfway down in Settings. There's no obvious way to turn vibrate off. If you turn call forwarding off you can't just turn it back on, you have to type the number in again.
Apple did a brilliant job of convincing people that iOS is intuitive.

I’ve been using iPhones for about 10 years now, only on my second, a 6s. The battery needs replacing but I intend keeping it for at least another year or two.Sporky said:

You’re just a numpty. all those things are easy on an iPhone. Both work. Turning vibrate off - Settings / Sounds & Haptics. First two options on the screen. Both work. Yes you can, and it’s a doddle. Touch & hold any icon until they all wobble. Drag icons around to their new location, or new page, or put several together as a group. Press Home when finished. Easy.
My FiL has been hand me downed a 6 so I've been helping him set it up. I can't say it's any better or worse than Android, but it won't let me move icons to a point on a page as it insists on lining them up from the top left.when smartphones became a thing, i was android well HTC I think it was, got fed up of downloading apps that ate the battery or was some sort of virus. Moved over to the iPhone 6s which was only recently upgraded to the iPhone pro, which i expect will last another 4-5 years. I got caught up in the apple world and bought apple tv a MacBook pro which is now 5 years old (and still works perfectly) and this year an apple watch. All which work seamlessly with each other... happy to pay a couple quid a month for extra storage on iCloud, and apple music (which if rumours are true will be cd quality later next month (not that its bad at the moment)). there are so many haters for apple products but ultimately they work and i am happy to pay that little extra to avoid the ball ache of tech not seamlessly working together!

Is that a network provider setting rather than iOS, we use an iPhone to handle the on call using the call forwarding, when we switch it on at night just turn it on and the number Is there.Edit: use android for my personal and iPhone for work, though I think iOS has caught up enough I could use it for everything, the phones seem to last longer.

See if you can do it without insulting me again, or apologise.

I have a similar situation, iPhone 6s plus for work and Huawei mate 20 pro as my own phone. Both work. The iPhone is a decent phone, but the lack of a back button does drive me up the wall. Especially when finding a contact, it just goes to the last person I searched for rather start from scratch. Just bugs me. I also find I get a lot of 'call failed' issues, but that may just be Vodafone or even the security software on the phones themselves I guess.
What does impress me is the the iPhone still works after a good few years of use. I do also like the slider to put it on silent mode.
My own phone has been due an upgrade since December, yet I can't think what I would replace it with... Ironically it just works really well, is still fast, takes good pictures the battery lasts all day.
I don't bash iPhones for the sake of it and all my gripes with iOS would probably be a case of getting used to it, but I've never found it intuitive to use or worth the money.
