3D printing prosthetic hands / arms / whatever
Discussion
I know there are a few 3D printers on here .. is anyone involved with printing prosthetics, through an e-nable chapter, or Team UnLimbited, or whoever?
I’ve got an entry(ish) level printer, some time, and want to learn by doing something worthy. I know there are lots of open-sourced designs available; I guess one main question is how do you get connected with an individual who would benefit?
I have pinged a couple of the e-nable chapters, and am sure there’ll be a response soon, but why not ask the bottomless pit of wisdom that is PH.

I think that bit has creeped everyone out of the discussion. How does your R&D budget, extensive testing programme, and (obviously) your extensive knowledge of the prosthetic field, equate into your proposition?

Anyway, if you take the likes of Team UnLimbited .. they provide the open-sourced designs for their prosthetic hands. The end-recipient provides 3 key measurements that are used to create the base files for the 3d printer. These aren’t 20 grand bionic limbs.
