VCR Recording problem

Yes, I know VCRs are like, soo last Century, but I have one anyway!
When recording from Sky box the result is a slight static sound eminating from the right channel, almost as if there is interference from an analogue source.
What could this be?

Are you using a budget scart cable? It's probably picking up interference. Could also be the heads need cleaning.

Check what channel / frequency is tuned to, (the RF output from the VCR to the TV) if that is too close to an existing signal you can get interference, even if you are using SCART cable. Have a tweak of the adjustment screw on the back & see if that cures it...
