Why don't I have the Messages app in my iCloud (desktop)

[Phooey]

I just wondered why I don't have the Messages app in my iCloud when viewed on a Mac desktop by signing into iCloud.com? Strange.

There is no messages app on iCloud app.

The feature is messages in the cloud, NOT messages APP in the cloud…

You can view messages on Mac using the Messages app.

Ahh that makes sense - thank you. Was hoping to retrieve an old message and thought I might find it in iCloud (desktop). It's not on a backup either so not sure how else to find it?
