Firefox and local file with favourites

[paul.deitch]

I used to have my standard html file with all my favourites organised and coloured the way I want them load at startup and for new tabs but it seems that Firefox doesn't allow this for new tabs any more. Firefox "Personalise" doesn't meet my requirements.
I've lived without it for a while now but no longer want to.
What are the alternatives out there that will allow me to do what I want, load a local file for startup and new tabs?
