Hi

Apologies for what may be a simple question (I use Macs not PC) but I have an old CD/DVD, which contains a really helpful workshop manual for my 2009 BMW motorbike and I would like to run it from my laptop without the need for an external player. I have a MacBook Air running Windows 10 in bootcamp, and have borrowed a DVD player to run the programme successfully. The disk contains an .exe file and numerous others. Is there a way of "saving" the disc contents to my hard drive so it could run directly from there without the need for an external drive?

Many thanks in advance.

Create a .iso of the disk and then mount that.

Is the contents simply .pdf's if so, you might be able to mount and browse the contents from the mac side.

As above, you need to create an ISO image of the disk, then you 'mount" that image when you want to use it. This makes Windows believe there is a cd in a drive.

The iso is effectively your cd, the drive is effectively some software called Daemon tools. It can both create the iso, and run the iso.

Here is a link to a guide, it's a very easy process...

Windows 10 natively mounts ISO's too now, so once youve created it your all set, it'll just sit in your My PC as a drive for whenever you want it (or you can mount/unmount it as needed)
