I'm on Three PAYG and of course they've recently changed their rates to something pretty nasty.

I don't use masses of credit but enough that it's now a PITA having to think about even light internet usage when I'm away from WiFi.

Generally I hate contracts but looking around I saw there's a Three contract at a tenner a month which is unlimited calls, texts, and 30GB of data.

Three have been fine so it seems a no-brainer.

Given I haven't had a mobile contract since the days of paper bills and itemised calls are there any major gotchas these days?

The only gotcha contract term I would be looking at is roaming charges and what countries they have as part of the package.

I am similar; I am just using the credit, although I won't be staying with three. To me those price increases were rather large, and also the second increase in a year, so they are telling me to FO, so I will return the compliment and go elsewhere.

I was thinking about 1p mobile for when my three credit is finally exhausted, 1p a min, 1p a text, and 1p per MB, but I think you have to top up with £10 every 4 months, they use the EE network so should be OK coverage.

I would add my usage is extremely low as work is in a signal dead-zone, so I only get signal when I leave work, so it will take me a while to use what credit I have.

In regard of contracts, a lot of them can do mid-contract inflationary price rises.

O2 no longer do their classic plan on their own website but plenty sims still around.

E.g https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sim-Card-O2-New-and-Sea...

Same basically as the old three plan. I got one for my mother from the above seller, all registered fine and number ported over from three. Who knows how long before O2 change it but good for now as her usage didn’t justify even a cheap contract.

I'm with Three.

£15pm for unlimited Calls/Texts and Data.

Assume it's probably a legacy contract and not offered these days. I'll be gutted the day they finally cotton on and either cancel the contract or double the price.

I'm with BT Mobile (EE network). Think if get 20gb data, unlimited texts and minutes for £8 a month through my broadband account.

Probably use none of that stuff in reality as always at home on WiFi, including WiFi calls. But handy on the rare trip out

I'm with GiffGaff.
£10 per month for 10gb data unlimited calls and texts and theybrun on O2 network which is great for me.

Giffgaff is great for me its essentially PAYG and I personally find the network coverage great for where I am.

If you are happy with 3 and theire PAYG deals work for you no reason not to really.
