I have this problem which has installed itself on my machine. I believe it is called malware or something similar and it is causing continual pop ups. I am a complete novice at computer stuff and even though I have tried to purge it with Ad-aware, Microsoft spyware and Macafee virus scan, it is still active and throwing up problems mainly a search task bar and pop ups.

Any ideas about how to remove this annoying problem would be greatly appreciated. I think it was installed by my 11 year old daughter whilst chatting on MSN sites.

I would report it to the if I was you

Lop is an evil little critter. I think it's one of the nasty ones that uses two processes that monitor each other. If you kill one the other reinstates it.

Google for hijackthis (all one word) and run it against your machine. you'll probably need to post the logfile up here.

It may take a bit of shifting, but you'll get there in the end. Once it's gone, switch to Firefox as your browser.

Also run the online spyware scanner at www.spywareinfo.com.
IMHO kids+msn messenger= loads of spyware
By the nipper a pc or upgrade yours . We all have our own PC's at home now it saves me the hassle of spending all weekend fixing one before I can get online.

Try these online scanners

Or download and install this 30 day trial:

Details of how to remove it - print and follow carefully.

Hi chaps.

Thanks for the input. I have tried various downloads you have suggested and at last, it would appear that the little gremlins have been evicted form my system.

I am about to evict the gremlins from this system who are responsible for installing them on here when they arrive home from school!!!

Cheers
