Old person needs help with facebook hiding "most recent"

Over the last weekend, facebook seems to have finally deleted the option to find "most recent" on my phone in desktop mode.

Back in april they bought in the news feed thingy that appears at the top but that went missing after a couple of weeks to be replaced by a "see more" button that when clicked gave back the recent option.

Now the see more button has gone and no other option I can find to get the news feed back to recent.

Works fine in mobile mode or thier stty data raping app. Also works fine on any windows PC or tablet (eg at work).

I refuse to use the app or the cut down mobile version. I have a big screen smart phone so why would i want cut back functionality designed for people on poverty spec phones. I would just delete the account but its a useful tool to keep in contact, when i can see what i want obviously.

Switching chrome from desktop to mobile and back does nothing to restore the button,

Clearing cache does nothing either.

Either they have deleted the function, (no evidence googling it? normally enough people would moan about a facebook change to get something on google), or I am getting old and have now "broken" my facebook by pushing a random button somewhere.

Its chrome on an android phone.

Its missing now both the newsfeed toolbar and the "see more" button so there is no way to get to the recent option. It used to be on the left but they removed that then put this feed filter thingy:



That has now gone too.

Any ideas?

This is what I am trying to get back to which is fine on my work PC and a windows tablet just not android phone or an android tablet. The mobile view is fking lame when you have a 10" tablet.

It’s an awful website/app designed so you see what they want you to see, not what you actually want to see. I like it for staying contact with people beyond that it’s hideous.

Same with Instagram which is now an advert between every post on your feed.

I found firefox it works fine, but that's only because firefox is so small that companies don't support it anymore. Plus its so glitchy its almost unusable.

So basically I have no choice but to use the mobile version which looks massively zoomed in on a big screen. lol.

In brave browser on my tablet if i go https://www.facebook.com/?sk=h_chr , then in settings click view desktop site, than manually replace the "m" it's replaced www with, it does go to a desktop chronological seeming site.

I say seeming because, all I see is product posts ie the sports teams etc rather than family/friends posts so I suspect it's still "de-boosting" the latter. And it's glitchy and will crash. I no longer really bother with it, I used to log in most days and spend 5 minutes scrolling the last 24 hrs but it's too much faff for too little reward now.

Maybe i need to delete all the Motorsport etc stuff to be allowed to see my family etc stuff? Something something goose and golden eggs a bit?
