I have an official document which was sent to me in PDF for. I need to add an E signature, but cannot alter the PDF or add anything to it. Is there an easy way to convert the PDF into a Word documant?

I believe that the Foxit PDF Reader allows you to sign the PDF.

I've got Adobe Reader (not the full pro version) 2021 and it allows signatures.

You should be able do it with Adobe but if not then I've used https://smallpdf.com/edit-pdf before

If you have a recent version of Word, you can just open the PDF and it converts it, You can then edit

The document has been issued in PDF format so as to assure it isn't changed.

Whoever issued the document is probably expecting you to print it, sign it and then scan it back to PDF.

The above of course assumes you don't have access to one of the apps that permits you to sign the document electronically.

PDF X-change editor will also do this.

Broadly speaking, anything else is better than Adobe Acrobat with pdfs. The only way in which it is "better" is ubiquity.
