A friend, yes really, is worried he's being catfished. He sent me an image, and I can see his concern, if she's interested he's batting.

Now the thing is I did a reverse image Google check, nothing found on however million websites. Does this mean the image isn't out there on the world wide web, and really must be off her phone?

Edit, 48.6 billion images checked.

I too read that news, and not convinced it's in anyway linked. Multiple different places posed, different clothes etc. Wouldn't the Chinese fake images just be one image, used to peddle bullst propaganda?

Ask for a video call?

Ask for photos from a story/experience she went on recently?

If the image cant be found that makes it less likely but of course not impossible, Why not just arrange to meet up and see if they back off or make excuses

I suggested that. Once, I was catfished, this was how I knew to knock it on the head. After someone told me where she'd stolen the images from, her (the images) IRL name.

easiest way to tell, tell her you have no money and live on the street. If it is love, she will still love you no matter what....whistle

Video call or she doesnt exist.
This day and age there is no excuse.
I cant believe a grown intelligent man falls for this crap.

Reverse google image search is not the tool it once was, so it doesnt prove much.
Of course it goes without saying, tell your mate to never send money or Amazon vouchers........

Catfish UK the show on MTV shows just how many people fall for this. It’s crazy to see some of the stories on there.

Saw one recently where they showed that a reverse image search doesn’t mean it hasn’t been stolen from somewhere even if it has no hits.

Without wanting to be too rude, a reverse image search on your profile gives this ..

It’s not all that smile

Video call all the way.

pit a filter on it, it won't show hits.

Basically easiest way if they ask for money and you aren't shagging them, then it will be a catfish.

Interesting, they didn’t explain why it didn’t show. Just said that fact it didn’t didn’t really mean anything.

I hadn’t thought about stealing a pic then adding a filter.

Have you tried running the pic through Tineye?
