Does anyone have any good walkie-talkies they would recommend for communicating between cars when in a group? On paper the basic Motorola T82 seems to cover all my needs, but just wondered if I was missing anything else?

Use mobile phones on a teams style call?

Facetime, messenger, teams, houseparty etc, I think they all work with the screen off.

When I've done Euro trips we've used Motorola TLKR T60 and they are fine. Can clip to the seatbelt or connect a headset. Good range and really useufl to warn of approaching hazards

Illegal to use a mobile phone though, but perfectly legal to use a walkie talkie

Any pmr should do as you dont need long range. Go for at least 16 channels as IME they can be quite congested in town so more channels better chance of not getting talked over.

Or go a bit more expensive a get one with encrypted channels .

I wouldn't want that, at least with a radio you only broadcast what you want to say rather than it being on all the time, and also only one person can speak at a time with as opposed to a teams call where everyone will be talking, farting, swearing at other road users etc at the same time
