Looking for help please, account been hacked and email address changed.
I have 2 accounts one for work and wife been removed from that by hacker.
I’ve tried to contact FB but when logging in to my account it’s the email problem I can’t get by.
The other way of trying to get by this is getting codes from 3 friends, unfortunately one friend has left FB so I’m stumped.
The personal account I can live with out it lol but my work side I do get jobs through this side and that bit is annoying.
Personal account dead, but work side still live, Instagram not affected oddly.

Cheers

Cant help with your issue, but my account got hacked yesterday, I seem to be an endless loop of reset code, then having the account locked because of a new password, it seems I have 2 factor verification, but I think they have changed the phone contact, so I dont get the 2nd reset code

very frustrating, is it possible to speak to a person at facebook to sort it out??

How did they change your email/phone? As would likely have emailed/text you a confirmation code?

Change your email password.

Also check https://haveibeenpwned.com/ and change your password for every account that uses the same email and password.

Email changed to a hotmail address 2 way code doesn’t work as it gets sent to that email address not phone, I suspect you get the choice.
I’ve set up another account today I’m not going to win this, I might have to change my mobile later if it conflicts when I update profile, will have to change company name to if I’m linking up!

The wider lesson here is if you're not already doing so use strong unique passwords for each service you use.

Ideally 2FA as well.

Focus on your email account as that's (one of) the thing that will screw up your life if bad guys get access to it.

Make sure you have strong & different passwords on your other existing accounts ( email / amazon / eBay / PayPal, etc) and (as mentioned above) enable 2FA if possible. Also be on guard for targeted phishing attacks for this other accounts as the hacker now has access to all of the personal information you have/had on Facebook - they may sell it on to other scrotes or look to use this for their own gain.

+ use a password manager.
Consider using pass-phrases rather than passwords - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passphrase if they need to be memorable.
