Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Whenever I try to send a photo via normal text, (IE: the messages are green because the recipient isn't using iMessage) they just fail. I have tried rebooting, turning MMS on and off and on again, resetting network settings etc.

Help!

Connectivity issue maybe?

What size are the images? Have you got MMS enabled on your data package, does the recipient have MMS?

Have you tried sending via What'sapp, Facebook messenger to name two other ways?

Are you sure you want to send a picture by MMS? Most carriers charge 25-55p per message.

Your better option would be a messenger app like WhatsApp. Free to use, free to send pictures and video within your data subscription.

As mentioned, use WhatsApp/Facebook Messenger/Kik/Snapchat etc.

I wouldn’t dream of sending it as a text (charges are high).

You can probably download your provider’s app, and check your account’s settings that way.

I am alright Jack

Smarty don't charge for data/picture messages.

Just saying so if the op wishes to change provider.

To be honest, I'm on unlimited data and it doesn't appear to cost me anything to send images in texts, I just don't know why it's being odd.

Will the pics send to iMessage users as normal?

With RCS rolling out in recent years it's caused all sorts of niggles re. MMS, such as some OEMS's not updating their proprietary messaging apps to support RCS, some networks turning off MMS now that the functionality is more than covered by RCS etc
It could be any number of things really.

Try sending it to an android phone which is using the messaging app below, which fully supports RCS;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com....

If it works, then you have an answer, if not it's one thing eliminated at least.

Apple still don't support RCS, instead having their users rely on iMessage only.

I have the same problem with my iPhone and if anybody texts me from an android phone I get a message to login to the provider's (in my case Vodafone) web page with a password to see it.
My provider's shop, and help line told me to use whatsapp which is OK but not everyone I know has it.
I have MMS enabled on my account.
