Gmail notifications

[V8covin]

Android 12 Xiaomi phone......for some reason I'm not getting any audible notifications when I receive emails.I have 4 Gmail accounts and it's the same for all of them.
I do get a notification icon in the notification bar.
I've gone through all the settings and there doesn't appear to be anything preventing audible notifications unless I'm overlooking something.
Any suggestions ?

Are you using the GMail app or the native mail client from the phone?

In the Gmail app, the notification settings are per account. So open Gmail, go to Settings, then select the account, then you can manage notifications and sounds from there.
