Why are usb-c to lightning audio adapters so expensive

Got an iPad Pro with only a usb-c adaptor.
There are times when it’s much easier to use wired headphones rather than Bluetooth. Just about all of mine are Apple lightning connectors.
The cheapest audio adapters seem to be Anker for £27, Apple’s own cost £29.
Why are they so expensive, charging/power adapters in comparison are reasonable prices?

If Lightining is Apple's proprietary tech then brands/manufacturers will be paying them a licensing fee to use it.

Apple will charge whatever they can get away with.

That’s my point this is a 3.5mm jack, for the lightning equivalent it’s another £20.

This is the charging version rather than the expensive audio. It’s either one or the other

If you mean using two adaptors at the same time you’d need one slightly different because you need a male audio to fit the other adaptors female.
What I wanted was a usb-c to lightning Audio adapter for a similar price to the Power version. ;>)

iPad pro only has USB-C, while most other iPhones/iPad use Lightning

The OP has Lightning headphones, and is looking for USB-C > Lightning not xx > 3.5m.
