'Manage cookies' - can I stop it showing on every website?
Discussion
Totally fed up of having to go through the 'manage or accept cookies' palaver on every bloody website I look at, even when it's a website I've already done it on ten minutes ago or a million times in the past.
Is there really no way of setting computers up so they automatically deny cookies without the user having to do anything?
Expecting a 'tough luck mate' answer.

If you use Chrome - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/i-dont-c...
The reason you're having to do it again when you denied them all ten minutes ago is because you rejected them.
Most cookies are pretty benign - changing the colours of links you have already clicked on in this forum, for instance, or allowing the owner of the website to see which articles are the most/least popular.
What's your objection to them?

I think you've missed the point, it's each time you visit every different website (not returning to the same one). Nor does he object to the principle of cookies, it's the constant clicking OK, Accept, or whatever EVERY time you hit a new site. Perhaps now we're out of the EU we can drop this rubbish (they brought it in, did they not?). Wow, a possible benefit of Brexit!

As MS Edge is based on the Chrome engine, you can add it to Edge too. Other browsers are available, and may take it too.Blackpuddin said:
Looking at the reviews on this and other cookie blocking apps it seems that they can bring their own problems?
Yes they can annoyingly. I used one for ages, but it got to the point recently where it was breaking too many sites. For example a lot of local news sites would not show the 'cookie question' but instead get stuck with a black tint over the page that prevents you being able to scroll.
I wish there was a setting in the browser ... "always reject" that the sites could check before displaying the tedious message. "I'm not interesting in any mailing list" and "i never ever complete surveys or review websites" would be nice as well!

Here's hoping, the guy is right in saying that most of these cookie popups are utterly pointless. Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
