Replacement for a virgin home hub 3.0
Discussion
Got a hub 3.0 in looking to replace for internal networking
my
Thinking so far
hub 3.0 into modem mode
To link Archer c6 sitting beside it handling
All networking things
second archer c6 hardwired up stairs as an AP. Already have a single cat6 from the living room to the gaming/cinema room upstairs but wifi is shocking upstairs to the point of unusable at the
Moment.
Any thoughts on the above or different recommendations?

Sounds a sensible solution.
The only point I’d make is as it’s a not a mesh system you might find that mobile device have issues moving between the two wifi networks, I’d suggest giving them different names to be clear on which one you attach to, or buy a mesh system that allows a wired interconnect, tp offer a number of these.

Agree with the above, a good Mesh will seamlessly allow you to roam between nodes, nothing worse than a phone trying to cling onto a signal in the loft when you’re down in the garden.
Look at the TP Link P9, WiFi, powerline, backhaul and a 3 year warranty. It’s all I fit and I can remotely manage them off my phone.
