Hi All,

I am looking some advice with regards drones. I am currently involved in testing autonomous vehicles and have a requirement to have a dressed blow up mannequin to cross in front of the moving car. I was planning to use a shop window dummy on a skateboard, but my boss is keen to do this with a lightweight blow up dummy (stop sniggering at the back!) and a drone.

If anyone has experience of drones, could you recommend me a drone capable of being flown by a newbie and able to carry a small weight - blow up doll and its clothes in front of a moving car.

Thanks

The one thing I'd say is that all current drones are really easy to fly. An hour or two and you'll be competent. REALLY difficult to crash in open spaces. Can't help with weight as I've never towed anything! Having something below the drone might scare up the 'oops I'm cashing' sensor. ETA... so you'll probably have to turn that off.

Will you have the requirement for moving legs according to ISO 19206-2:2018 for AI recognition?

I think you'll struggle with the slightest bit of wind making the drone/blow up sex doll contraption very unstable and uncontrollable.

Keep your boss' fetish to the hotel room afterwards I think biglaugh

Thanks Bodo - that will be the next step, not needed at this stage.

You would be better off and safer with a standard battery powered remote control car. Losing control of a LiPo equipped flying blender if it is crashed into does not bear thinking about yikes

I wouldn’t even bother, something ground driven/mounted is so much easier and involves less regulation.
