Bit of an odd one

As before when posting computer stuff...I know nothing!
So I hope this makes sense!
I've done something I expect, but I've no idea what.

A bit long winded but here goes...I'll keep it specific to PH but it happens on all sites.

I open up the forum index page, on my PC.
First item is General Gassing and then Motoring news.

I normally go to either the TVR threads, half way down the list or NP&E.
I open up a topic and browse whatever I want to look at.
When I return to the Forum Index page, It used to go back to where I left off i.e. the TVR section or Pie and Piston where NP&E is.
Now when I go back to the Forum Index, it always returns back to the top of the page, i.e. the first item, General Gassing.
Most annoying because when I've finished with the Tuscan section I want to look at General TVR Stuff and Gossip.
In a previous life I could be straight back there, but now I have to scroll all the way down the page again to get there.
This is happening on all websites I visit and it's annoying the f**k out of me ...Help please...Thanks.

Which web browser are you using?

How are you going back? Back button in the browser or clicking on the "Gassing Station" link below the PistonHeads logo in top left of the screen?

You know if you click on a link with the wheel of the mouse (you said PC not laptop so I'm guessing you have a mouse) it will open that link in a new tab which you can then close leaving the original Gassing Station page scrolled to where you left it?

Funnily enough, I've noticed this as well in Chrome.

Just tried it MS Edge and the same thing happens. It doesn't in MS IE though, so maybe it's down to a new Chromium release?
