Not sure if anyone else has been caught out by this but I was waiting for an important call back from a health provider yesterday and I kept getting alerts about missed calls and it said "Silenced Call".

Very frustrating but from a recent iOS update it added the feature to my phone and enabled it so it silences unknown callers. Annoying that it enabled it by default on my phone but didn't on my wife's iPhone!

I’ve updated to iOS15 a couple of days ago. Just checked and silence unknown calls set to OFF by default.

Not sure I like some of the new Safari layout / page tabs. I guess it might be something I learn to live with, but muscle memory keeps kicking in and I keep pressing in the wrong area of the screen. It doesn’t feel right .

You can change where the address bar is located in Settings.

I hated it at first but have got used to it over the past few weeks and much prefer it now. Feels much better when holding the phone one handed.

Thanks for that, after trying to adjust for last few days I gave up. Just like the traditional browser heading.

This is why you don't update iOS.

My iPhone is well past it's best, but loathed to get rid of my iOS 11 Jailbreak. If only I could transfer the software to a new phone

I usually look forward to and enjoy the improvements that come with iOS updates, just not this little tweek.

TBF they at least put in an option to revert back to the original setting. Job done.

Looks like it's landed on my phone with the option defaulted to off..
but totally agree, maintaining a device on a downgraded version ignoring vulnerabilities is a foolish move.

I have been quite happy with each new iOS. Can't say any of them have caused me any issues. iOS 15 is on my phone now and works perfectly. I like some of the improvements that I have found so far.

The OP's problem seems to be a one off, and nothing that couldn't be solved by simply changing one setting.

As I'm not particularly tech savvy, I can't understand why you would want to run an old iOS that misses out a lot of features and improvements that have been implemented in the newer iOS versions?

Agree with this, no one else seems to have had the issue and it was a quick fix - just frustrating at the time - also upgraded to iOS 15 now and no issues - cheers.

You can also change the location by tapping on the ‘aA’ icon and swap to the top from the options shown.

There is a tweak to send an up to date iOS version to specific apps, banking in particular to trick them into letting you in.

A late iOS 11 will be more secure than an early iOS 15, as they will of inevitably released something none secure. The iOS 11 to 12, to 13 etc. are not normally security enhancements, but more additional functionality. Normally stuff I don't want. The main reason is also being able to still run 32 bit apps, instead of the modern 64 bit stuffs. There is a back catalogue of non supported 32 bit apps which were great.

But this is going of on a tangent. I'm just never an early adopter of app updates as my experience is they often break a secure build
