I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10" a couple of years back to replace an Amazon Fire thing (which was total garbage).
I've no complaints about it. It's served me well when travelling/ on planes etc. I'd happily replace it with whatever the latest iteration is if it died. Cost me £200 at the time.

Bought a couple Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lites back in June to replace our Lenovos.
So far, very pleased with them

£299 tomorrow only for 24 hours then back up to £369.
A new tablet that seems to get some good reviews, only downsides if you count them as issues are no micro sd port, no 3.5mm port and no video out.
I'll be buying one tomorrow as for £299 it still seems great value for money.

Just bought a Lenovo M10 2nd Gen for the little ones birthday next week.
£149
64gb
4gb Ram
HD
Android 10
Dolby Atmos
USB C
I think for the price and features it's pretty good value and I prefer their version of Android which is pretty much stock compared to Samsung's and their own apps.
However it's more a budget option than what you might be looking for.

I got the Samsung Tab A7 a couple of months ago, brand new on eBay for £130. For the price, it is a bargain. Good enough screen, really good 4 speaker set up. Multi-day battery life, for me.
Main downside is it does chug along a bit. It is mostly fine and will run apps fine without major lag, but as soon as you start taxing it at all, it really slows... But, for the price, it is fine.
I like mine so much that I'll probably upgrade to one of the higher end Samsung Tablets at the end of the year.
I mainly use mine just for YouTube, Netflix, web browsing etc... No games at all, I expect it'd really struggle with most games.
