TomTom Mobile 5

I have a GPS unit and a "Smart Phone" and would like to get TT Mobile 5 on my phone.

The problem is, it seems you can only get TT Mobile 5 if you buy their GPS unit as well. Is the software available separately?

Yes, but not legally IIRC.

It would seem TomTom are missing a gap in the market if you are forced to buy their GPS unit.

TT5 for mobile and PDA has been listed as "Available soon" on their own website, even though 3rd party suppliers have had it for a month or two.

Upgraders from TT3 get all the European maps, but new purchasers only get their own region map. How to alienate new customers...

Purchasers of the "software only" TT5 get all the European maps, yet they are not even available for new "TT5 with GPS" owners yet!

As a recent TT5 with Bluetooth GPS buyer, I'm a bit p***ed off. The European maps are obviously available, so why can't I buy them! Sort your act out TomTom!

The Western European Maps for Navigator 5 are now showing on the website, but there is no link or any way to buy!

I'm really struggling too with their website.

Need to get maps of France (especially south of France - Nice, Monaco region) and don't know if I will be able to run them on the TomTom Mobile 5 setup.

Perhaps chris.mapey can help me?

My TT3 keeps crashing on my iPaq, I don't suppose anyone could supply me with TT5 and the European maps to see if it's more stable?
