I would like to set up Mario Kart for as many people as possible, all sat together with a controller in hand the old school way.

This will be on a large tv or more likely through a projector.

So, which console do I buy, which version of the game, any other equipment needed and how many players cans we have?

Doesn’t need to be the best quality just an hour or twos fun.

Thanks

Cheap WII with 4 wii-motes and nunchucks (hate playing MK with the steering wheel, it's awful!)

Letterbox mod it - frightfully easy

8gb minimum SD card required for the modfiles, then the monebrew channel files and then the 3ishGB wii iso file

Job jobbed!

(then once you have the homebrew channel you can install the modded mario kart program which gives you every course from every one of the games and a fair few other custom hacks)

It gets quite addicive, I have an external HD plugged into mine, we play gamecube games a fair bit...)

We bought a 2nd hand Wii-U with Mario Kart 8 and a load of controllers (wheels). Much better graphics than the standard Wii.

Thank you for the replies.

Going to have to get the dictionary out to understand it all but seems like Wii it is.

Just to clarify as had a quick look on line.

For 8 people to play on the big screen at the same time I need one 32gb console, either Wii or Wii-U, plus 8 of either the handheld controllers with the screen or the nunchucke controller?

Sorry, not been on a console for, well I’m sure you can tell how long!

Mmmm 8 sounds quite tricky...

You'd need a heck of alot of nintendo switches to make that work... The normal is 4 per console, each needing a controller
