A friend of mine is a court appointed guardian dealing with clients legal, financial and other issues.
She needs a scanner which she can take with her (so "portable") and it needs to:
-do duplex colour scanning with adf (speed not important, ultimate quality not important)
-do thicker documents like a passport (probably not through the adf)
-do credit card size id docs etc (probably not through the adf)
-not cost thousands.

I spent several hours looking but I haven't been able to recognise any product that does this that is portable and not incredibly expensive.
Did I miss something? Any suggestions very gratefully received by the lady.

Looks alright. There are reviews for it on Amazon.

No WiFi which means she’ll need to connect it to her laptop to use it but other than that, it ticks all your boxes.

Canon scanners are generally very good so the one you've found should be a good solution as a scanner but .....

Is it portable enough?

Could the passport and id card scanning be handled with something like Camscanner on her phone ?

If so, then the document scanning could be done with a proper portable scanner. You're then opening up wireless, battery (or USB powered) options.

The Canon DR-F120 is excellent and fast. Can read both sides of a credit card/ID but cannot take thicker docs.
She's very happy with it.

How many documents in one sitting?

I have a couple of scanners at home, but quite frequently find myself taking photos of documents on my phone instead.

There are some decent scanning apps around too, Adobe, Microsoft for starters have them, genius scan is also pretty good.
