Whatsapp problem

I have upgraded my old S6 to an A32. If I go into whatsapp it asks me my name, then thinks about it then says "unable to connect please try later".

I have uninstalled and re-installed and get the same thing.

What am I doing wrong?!

Yeah could be I guess but I did try last week as well and it was the same.

Might be worthwhile googling "whatsapp problems" and your phone model.

Looks like a "clear all data" in the settings>app>whatsapp>cache has done the trick as its now downloading the backup to restore everything.

Weird. I would have thought uninstalling it would wipe everything.

Yep that worked. It looks like it hung up for some reason during the install process like you say maybe the outage had some connection. When I cleared the cache it started the install process from the start again and all was well.
