Halloween Outdoor Projector
Discussion
I want to get one of these for Halloween (and, if possible Christmas) but any search on Amazon etc brings back £30 made in China unbranded tat or several hundred pound pojectors that may be useful for Jean Michel Jarre but are a bit expensive for one night's use.
Anyone have one, recommend a brand etc?
I don't really mind whether its pumpkins, skeletons, ghosts or all three, as long as it's mains powered or has a decent battery life and can stand being outside if the weather turns autumnal.
Thanks

Will watch this keenly. I intended to do this last year however felt a bit pointless with lockdown and lack of trick or treaters (we threw a small Halloween party in the garden for the kids rather than trick or treating).
I’ve been browsing AtmosFX after a NAM colleague mentioned them. No surprise that they are better prepared that side of the Atlantic for the holidays! I had never heard of the term ‘digital decorating’ before.

I signed up to them and due to browsing and having things in my basket they’ve sent a few codes to get free files, I think they were under $10 anyway but handy to see the potential.
I’m going for the Jack-O’-Lantern Jamboree as the best fit for my kids ages and general safe bet for trick or treaters. The idea will be to get three real pumpkins to project the faces onto. They have much scarier stuff available but I’m not really aiming to mentally scar them!
But back to your topic, projectors.
Atmos have a Viewsonic M1 on their site which on Amazon is £315.
I was aiming for more around the £100 as it’s likely to get a bit of abuse. I’m in no need of an actual projector for home media viewing, this is just for novelty use which sounds the same as the OP.
One thing to bear in mind when on the shopping hunt is how will sound be dealt with - I’ve seen a few projectors which looked good but were wired sound. I’ve got some Bluetooth Ultimate Ears Wonderbooms which are waterproof and can be placed around the area. The projection is no use if there’s weedy/no sound IMO.

I bought a cheap projector a couple of years ago (120 quid), mounted the screen above the front window then had the bright idea of projecting onto the blinds at Halloween so that i had ghosts and stuff floating about that were visible from outside, looked great.
Found some video files to put on a playlist and let it rip. Looked great from the outside, people on the train going past could see it, unfortunately I didn't check all the files and in the middle of one of them was a bit of porn.

te - YMMV) at Aldi or Lidl. Neighbour bought one last year for 25 quid for Christmas and it did a great job projecting on to the end wall of a house.
