I have a PDF document (saved as a Docx file). I can print it ok but the font is really too small to read. I have tried zooming to 150% but when I print, the page becomes cropped.

Any ideas?

Is it a PDF image in a Word file, or have you converted the contents to text?

If the former, and you haven't got a printer that does A3, then you'll have to open it in Acrobat and print as poster (to whatever scale or number of pages you feel comfortable with) and spread it across multiple pages, which you can then stick together.

If the latter, then simply open it in Word, select all (Ctrl+ A) and click the 'increase font size' toolbar item (Ctrl+Shift+>) to increase the text size a little - this will keep it to the original paper size, but will simply spread it across more pages.

Thanks, I have converted it to word and increased the font, but, unfortunately, there are diagrams in the document which, of course, I lose

Does your printer have the option to print an A3 or A2 on multiple pages of A4?

As Pointy said, make the page A3 or bigger and split the printed page into A4’s.

I do this to make quick large temporary signs over the front of a retail window.

Sounds like you'll have to go back to the original PDF and print it on multiple pages from Acrobat.

If you don't have the original PDF, then save the Word file as a new PDF and open that in Acrobat.

Your printer doesn’t need an option to do this, it’s an option in Word or other MS packages.

Just select a large print paper and choose ‘tiled A4’ in the options when printing (as per the piccy in my post above).

It will split a large print size automatically into A4 pages.
