I have 2 iPhones which are used by myself and my wife under one Apple ID
This has always been ok but now we both have Apple watches the health info etc merges into one. I guess we could solve this by setting up one watch as a family member but…
I suspect we need to set up a separate ID for each of us but I have no idea how to do this or the implications of this
assuming I keep the original ID, how can I allocate a new one to my wife and what will this change - storage, passwords etc?
Any help appreciated

Set another one up for her and then use the family feature so you can share things, including iCloud storage if you have a subscription for that. You will have to start over with the health data and some other stuff inc. passwords on her device.

So, new Apple ID set up for my wife. Other than needing to add the bank card into the wallet all other detail retained on the phone (banking apps, email etc) so that is good
Family sharing set up and that works well
Apple Watch data deleted and watch reset and set back up under my wife’s Apple ID account
All working except ….. my health data retained in my wife’s health app. No new detail is being added but seems odd it’s retained that detail.

Had a poke about in my setting and found this. Go into settings, health, data access and devices. Then scroll down to devices. I guess you will now see both your watch and your wife’s. Select your watch, scroll to the bottom and delete its data off your wife’s iPhone.
