Not sure if this belongs here or in the sports section, but anyway...

I would quite like a running/sports watch, I'm a fairly casual runner so don't want to spend hundreds. I did have a very cheap "fitness band", but I was never quite convinced of it's accuracy. For example, I currently use Strava on my phone to record runs, and there was a massive difference between the distances recorded between the two. Then the USB charging plug fell apart.

I've seen the https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/running-wrist-heart-... , which looks like it might be worth a look, but was wondering if there was any other options.

A second hand Garmin 235 might suit very well, if you can track one down. There are loads on eBay. A new strap from Amazon and you're good to go. Mine is still going strong after countless years.

I'd second the second hand Garmin route as I had a couple of Fenix devices and they were great. I'm sure the Decathlon device is competent but for me the Garmin connect software was great as you could do custom interval runs etc. The data you get out of it was amazing but I'm not sure about the Kiprun software.

Basically, you need a 5 button Garmin. The software integrates with Strava well. Touchscreens are crap if you need to change things whilst running (pause).
I think most GPS watches take a reading every second. The phone GPS is not very accurate as it samples much less frequently.
