Will an IR flood improve camera night vision?
Discussion
Hi
As title really - i have a cheapo-ish action camera mounted on my bike and at night i'm finding the number plates are too reflective using my main cycle lights. I'm wondering if an IR LED flood would help and before I try it, thought i'd ask opinions here.
Had one of my closest passes yet the other night on my bike and unfortunately the reg was not visible due to motion blur and light reflection. Motion blur I can solve myself by holding steady, but the number plates seem to white-out due to my own LED headlights on the bike, but with them off, the camera doesn't pick up the reg at all. So will IR be a sweet spot?
Thanks
Mike

Looks like the camera needs to be modified to remove the IR filter

Yes a better camera would be better, but i try to work with what i've got before splashing more money.
