As part of our Xmas bonus to staff we're giving out E-Vouchers. What will happen is that we will pay the E-Voucher company £10,000 (for example and they will send us 100 weblinks. we are then supposed to distribute one link to each person.

Rather than having 1 person sending out 100 emails is it possible to use Excel for some kind of mail merge.

Ideally I would have two columns in Excel; Column 1 being the email addresses of the staff and Column 2 being the web link. Then somebody drafts one email which gets sent to everybody in Column 1 and telling them their unique weblink to redeem their voucher.

I hope that makes sense...... frown

Yep. Piece of cake.

Make sure you test it with a couple of test email addresses before you send the bulk load!

Depending on numbers you should be aware it might render the PC useless for a little while as it creates and sends all the emails in Outlook.

Also make sure the email address info your using is clean/up to date, i remember one of our procurement staff took out our email server for several hours and we ended up with a massive mail loop when they tried what your doing with suppliers. not my most fun day at work trying to sort out the massive cluster f**k theyd created.

Apologies - I'm a technological luddite.

We'll be using the internal Outlook address list. Worst case scenario we'll get 600 "out of office" messages. What is a mail loop and how would we create one?

Should be fine if it’s internal, ours as I say was suppliers and loads of errors due to incorrectly spelt, out of date etc email addresses.
