Smart lock advice

Hi, I'm looking to get a smart lock if possible for my front door.

It's a composite door fitted about 18 months ago and has a standard cylinder lock with a thumb turn on the interior.

The reason I am looking for some advice is that it does not have a separate handle, so I am unsure if smart locks like the August pro for instance will work with this set up.

Does the door require a separate handle as well as the normal cylinder lock?

I've watched a few videos for various smart locks but they always seem to have a separate handle to open the door once the door has been unlocked.

Any help would be appreciated.
