I had an ancient "RockMakers" ages ago in my youth room, drove neighbors crazy,

as all those electromechanical bumpers, rollovers, flippers etc. sent distortions around the whole house.

Always wanted to have a semi-digital one like Mata Hari, Gretzky´s PowerPlay, that generation.

We used to have a competition in the office for the old Pinball game that came pre-installed on some old version of windows. (Just googled it can get it as an app on iOs)

The SPTO always had the highest score lol

Yes - played a lot in my teens / twenties and had a Twilight Zone machine at home for 5 years. I sold it for more than I paid for it.....but nowhere near as much as they are worth now!

Bit of an aside, but I did a road trip around Australia a couple of years ago. Out in the middle of nowhere, about halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne in Nhill, Viictoria, is the Australian Pinball Museum attached to a motel. There was only me staying there so the bloke running it gave me the keys and let me play to my heart's content. Some of the really old machines, from the 30's and 40's were as you might expect a bit basic - Midget Hi Ball just made me laugh with the name smile The ACDC and Kiss machines were the ones that got the most minutes, but they had probably 40 machines out and about the same in storage that they rotate every now and again. Pleasant way to spend an evening.

Liar. It's like having an old Pentium desktop and Win 98 all over again.

Yup.

I have an Addams Family machine. Played it at Uni, thought it wise to get one.

Have had it for 15yrs or so.

They're great machines to both play work on.

If anyone lives close to Birmingham then please accept my condolences, but at least there is this https://tiltbrum.com/

Loads of pinball machine, good quality coffee and cakes oh and craft beers and burgers.

No affiliation but spent a good hour or two with my good friend Ed Robertson playing their machines before a local gig.

Yup, I’ve owned about 25 tables over the years, currently have a bnib Tron, never been set up, Star Trek Next Generation, Star Wars (Data East) and a Road Show.

I used to buy brand new tables for £2850 inc vat, unbelievable to think that prices now are double that for used tables and stuff like Addams Family, Indiana Jones, Twilight Zone, Medieval Madness are worth even more.

Originality is everything, avoid the crap on EBay that’s had parts replaced with pattern parts and aftermarket circuit boards.

I’ve had a couple of classics like Space Invaders, 8 Ball Deluxe and a Gorgar. I sold quite a lot of stored pinball machines and parts about 15 years ago when I moved to a smaller house, obviously I’m kicking myself now.

I do enjoy a pint and a game of pinball in a pub, but it must be at least 10 years since I last saw one out on site.

I’m not keen on all the replacement led lamps being used these days, far too bright and distracting.

I have some in mine (kept the originals) and half agree. When playing with the ambient lights off/low they're way too bright. With ambinet lights higher, they work much better.

Another key thing is that they should (in theory!) last longer.

They're an easily reversed mod though.

Yes, ive had a dabble.

Recently sold an Indy500. TBH, wasnt much of a challenge that one.

Still got a Shadow, but its in storage. Needs a small amount of work, primarily to the divertors.

The real limitation for me is that i leve in a semi, and as observed earlier, even with the voloume turned down, mechanically, they are rather quite noisey frown

I have a Twilight Zone - paid £900 for it about 18 years ago.

Don't play it much these days, which is a shame.

I will be spending quite a lot of time in Birmingham over the next 12 months, so will definitely visit the pinball bar.

Way back when I was 16 / 17, I had a pinball table in my bedroom. It was an early one that was electro-mechanical. It wasn't fully working and I didn't have the skills to fix it. There was no internet back then.

Favourite tables from early days were 8 Ball Deluxe, Star Trek and Space Invaders. My favourite table of all time is Attack from Mars - but they're way too expensive now.

Pinball Heaven is a great place for spares and board repairs.

Not fortunate enough to have a real table at home (yet!) but can't resist shoving a few coins in whenever I take my daughter to the arcades.
I do have Zen Pinball on the PSVR to feed my addiction at home though, not as good as the real thing but a decent substitute.

My dream is to acquire a Williams Rollergames machine at some point though cloud9 Probably spent enough playing that as a kid to buy one outright laugh

Sounds like ever student bar in the early 90s must have had either this or the Twilight Zone as I remember playing both whilst at Uni.

£11495 for the Addams Family

Or £22K for this one

https://www.gamesroomcompany.com/products/addams-f...

£12,500 for the Twilight Zone
