Bit of an odd one this.

A couple of days ago, my OH's phone and tablet simultaneously stopped receiving emails on the Gmail app at home.

Now mine are doing the same (phone and tablet), or rather they will download emails with extreme reluctance and won't let me open attachments.

The phones seem to receive emails happily on 4G while out though!

Googling suggests rather bland solutions (from Google) that are trying to fix the problem for a single device (clear your cache, check your permissions, etc).

One or two posts I've seen from people that have had multiple devices do this have seen them basically give up and migrate to a different mail app.

As far as I can fathom, the issue must be with some update to the app (but there doesn't seem much Internet chatter) or our WiFi, but if the latter then why the staggered effect over a couple of days?

Could it be something to do with Google two-step verification that's been rolled out in the last day or two?

Ooh could be! But why on WiFi but not 4G?

And surely that would apply to Gmail email accounts rather than other accounts using the Gmail app?

And as I say, my emails are working, just very slowly.
