I've just opened a gmail account because my usual one is broken (Plusnet).

I sent someone a plain e-mail and it went fine.

I then sent the same person an e-mail with a photo attached (one I found on the net) but got a reply saying: 'Message blocked. Your message to xxxxx has been blocked. See technical details below for more information.'

And the technical details below say: '550 5.4.1 Recipient address rejected: Access denied. AS(201806281) [CWLGBR01FT036.eop-gbr01.prod.protection.outlook.com]'

Very informative. Does Gmail do image recognition and automatically block anything it thinks is copyright?

This might help explain it... Looks like a problem at their end, or they don't accept emails from Gmail.

The message is from the other end's SMTP server, it's not come from gmail. Nothing you've done.

Is it a works email? I could never get pictures sent to my work address, just documents etc.

If you can still send the recipient an email without an image attached then their mail server is likely blocking emails with a jpg attachment.

You could try renaming the file to be a .pdf or .doc see if that file type is allowed through

He uses it for work, but it's his own business and he set up the tech.

His business is video, not least a YouTube channel, and related things so it's hard to believe he would deliberately block JPGs.

It wasn't important so I won't bother trying to sort it out - I've had enough of e-mail this week!

ETA problem solved - he changed his domain from .co.uk to .uk. Doh!
