Remarkable 2 or Alternative?
Discussion
I make lists, amd I make notes. I have paper notebooks for business meetings (a different one for each business) and paper notebooks for personal stuff.
I think Remarkable 2 is probably the answer, but the only issue I have is size. I use A4 books, but find A5 more convenient.
Does anyone have experience of Remarkable 2, or the smaller alternatives (Onyx Boox or ?) that they'd like to share?

I have a remarkable 2 - and I use it daily for taking work notes etc.
I’m not an avid and meticulous note taker, but I find it useful for getting things out of my head and written down, without creating reams of notes everywhere.
It is a beautiful thin device, and I would normally recommend it if you could justify the price tag to yourself. They effectively sell the minimal functionality of the device as it’s USP.
However, remarkable pulled a silly stunt this year and took all of the out of the box sync features that came with the device…and turned them into a subscription service! So now you have to pay £80 a year to use “remarkable connect” features that attracted everyone to the device in the first place. Yes, they’ve lowered the price of the device but it is still a piss take. Existing users like myself get a lifetime subscription.
I would probably put the money towards an iPad now, and one of the “paper feel” screen protectors which feel very similar to the remarkable.

Thank you. Yes, I was awarekf the Connectsubscription thing.I’m not an avid and meticulous note taker, but I find it useful for getting things out of my head and written down, without creating reams of notes everywhere.

I already have a Samsung Galaxy S7+ which has a pen and all that, but I'm after a pared-down dedicated note making/list making device without all the other stuff an Android tablet brings.
I've been using a remarkable 2 for a while now. It's revolutionised my note taking which before then would see me grabbing the nearest junk mail off my desk to scribble something down on a phone call and subsequently misplace it.
I have a folder for 'work' and a folder for 'personal' and create a new lined 'workbook' each morning for the days doodles.
Most useful for me has been the sync and the fact if I need to refer to a note and don't have it with me I can pull up the app on my phone/ipad/laptop etc and find it easily.
The battery life is superb, I hardly ever have to charge it and it really is like writing on paper. I don't use any of the advanced features you see in the adverts but the pen is excellent with a built in eraser on the end. I do tend to go through the nibs quite quickly for some reason, maybe I press too hard. The writing area is exactly the same size as an A5 piece of paper with maybe a half inch bezel all the way round.
Password protection is handy for those notes you wouldn't like others to happen across on your desk. It really has made me much more organised and my desk much tidier so I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you. Do you mean A5, or A4?I have a folder for 'work' and a folder for 'personal' and create a new lined 'workbook' each morning for the days doodles.

The total size is 188 x 246mm, so it's smaller than an A4 piece of paper (210 x 297mm). The writing area looks smaller than the overall size especially at the bottom, so I would say it is closer to A5 in writing area.
Cool, thanks. I suppose I could have just got a tape measure and done that myself.
Due to the icons on the LHS, the actual writing area is pretty much bang on A5 left to right but perhaps vertically ever so slightly less. Still has never caused me a problem.
Edit: I give up trying to get iPhone pictures the correct way round using the upload function!
