After several weeks trying to solve this issue, I thought I'd ask here, as Google & Microsoft tech support have no ideas & apparently, they are unable to communicate with each other via any of the available mediums in the known universe.

I have a domain, zzz, com, for which the email is managed by Google Workspace.

I have a Microsoft 365 account, with an xxx.onmicrosoft email address.

Emails sent from xxx@xxx.onmicrosoft to any@zzz.com are returned.

To be clear, only emails sent from xxx@xxx.onmicrosoft to any@zzz.com are returned.
Emails sent from xxx@xxx.onmicrosoft to any other address are received.
I can send emails from any@zzz.com to xxx@xxx.onmicrosoft & there are no other issues sending form or received to zzz.com.

Both Google & Microsoft maintain that it's not their problem & the issue is the other party.

How is it possible for this issue to exist I ask myself?
More importantly, can it be resolved?

It might not have anything to do with the issue but it looks like you may be sending Rich Text rather than HTML, which is pretty much only an Outlook thing and should be avoided.

If you're using outlook you can check the settings like this: https://thomas.vanhoutte.be/miniblog/here-is-how-t...

Are those the full headers ? There's nothing in there that seems to be from google, it's all within Microsoft. I was hoping there would be some specific failure code from google in there.

Cheers. I had a look, but the required settings are already enabled.

Yep, that is what is odd. Google said that to prevent problems, onmicrosoft DNS should have some DNS records, DKIM, SPF & DMARC, which prevent email being bounced. But there is no such user accessible area with a 365 account.

There is this:

Error Details
Reported error: 550 5.1.10 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipientNotFound; Recipient any@zzz.com not found by SMTP address lookup

DSN generated by: CWXP123MB3045.GBRP123.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM

That error is from microsoft servers

Microsoft servers should not believe they are in a position of authority to say whether or not a user exists on your domain because your domain’s email is hosted on google, not microsoft. They are in error in reporting this fact rather than simply forwarding the email to google as per your mx records.

Check your 365 tenants setup. Make sure your domain has not been added there at some point. Admin.microsoft.com, setup, domains. Your domain.com shouldn’t be there.

If you need to remove it it might take an hour or so to take effect.
