Hi, I’m not sure if cloning is exactly the right term, but I’m hoping someone can help. I have two identical iPhone 7s. One is my personal phone and is still in decent Nick but getting a bit slow and rubbish at holding charge. It does get a fair bit of use though. The other is my work phone which is barely used and in ‘as new’ condition (I use the desk phone). Ideally I’d like to swap them over and transfer all content from each to the other. They are signed up to different apple accounts. Does anybody know if this is possible? Thanks in advance.

It is possible, if they are on the same account.

If it is just the battery, then the alternative is to pay Apple £49 to put a new one in rather than spending time doing the swap and then you will be good for another couple of years - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/iphone/repair/serv...

Too much pontificating here. This is literally the point of iCloud.

Op, as long as your phone is signed into iCloud and has a current backup, then you simply fire up the new phone, sign in on the new device and everything will transfer back to the new phone.

Assuming your work iPhone belongs to you and not your employer, you can connect each to iTunes on a Windows PC or just finder on Mac and back them up. Then restore the backups the other way round then swap the sims and job done. The advantage of this over iCloud is no size limits, backs up everything and you don’t need to use the same account in both phones.

Got any more jokes.

iTunes on a Windows PC is the flakiest piece of software anyone will ever have the misfortune to use, and the chance of it doing what it is supposed to without throwing up some obscure error message is just about zero.

Anyone would think that Apple wants people to use a Mac.
