Home Games machine for daughters plus Dad !

Hello,

I have two daughters who are wanting to play Sims4. They would also like to play some other games, but nothing neccessarily 4K relevant with huge graphics requirements.

I'm looking for a games machine we can play Sims4 upon and hook it up to a television in the living room.

I would also like to play a few games for myself (not the original option, honestly !!).....driving games, basic shoot-em up etc.

PS5 is too much money for me. I'd prefer new.......but what to go for?

Not had a games machine since Wii was first introduced 20 years ago.....appreciate your thoughts.

Full fat Nintendo Switch would be the obvious choice, or maybe an Xbox series S if you are genuinely wanting to game yourself as well.

The kids will prefer the Nintendo.

I would suggest its going to depend on their ages as well - Switch is a great console but geared towards younger kids (under 10s) if they're a bit older I would certainly say PS or Xbox

ETA -although dont get me wrong I have a PS4 and my 7yr old has a Switch, the latter is the only one that gets used in this house, by anyone
