Dumb Question - Wireless Apple CarPlay.

New wheels arrived - it has Apple CarPlay Wireless.

Dumb question - While my phone is talking to CarPlay Wirelessly - is it still using my 4G for data - or is there some SIM in the car - and I'm likely to get a bill from the leasing company?

AFAIK the car is just a conduit and interface for the phone. If you’re playing streaming music/radio/a podcast, it’s your phone that is receiving the data from the phone provider.

And good luck with Wireless CarPlay; mine has been flaky as hell since iOS 15, crashing and freezing, sometimes requiring a reboot of the phone to work again. Mind you, so far on iOS 15.1.1 it's been okay....

CarPlay works really well, I love it.

No CarPlay is one reason I won’t be buying a Tesla.
