One for business, one for personal.
One for UK network and one for overseas network when travelling.
One for calls with the wife, one for calls with the mistress.
Take your pick.
Also 2 different networks for better coverage. One for UK network and one for overseas network when travelling.

Curious about esims, how do you go about converting your regular second sim into an esim, or do you have to specifically get a esim tariff?

Believe it's either. Curious about esims, how do you go about converting your regular second sim into an esim, or do you have to specifically get a esim tariff?
EE and Vodafone offer eSims as an option and Apples website states, "On your new iPhone, go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan. Tap Convert Cellular Plan. Tap Convert to eSIM".
Or you can buy (rent?) an esim contract such as Holafly or Ubigi for roaming..
when I was testing new networks for signal I used 2 sims. I thoughts you had to switch between ie one on and one off but not the case .
Calls, text and data are split so you can have text and calls on one sim but have data from another sim for example. pretty handy if your on a crappy deal and need a top up.

On Android phones, both are on permanently for receiving calls/sms, when making a call you select the sim to use (although it will default to the one used last for contacts - handy for the mistress sim!), data however only one can be active so you have to toggle.Calls, text and data are split so you can have text and calls on one sim but have data from another sim for example. pretty handy if your on a crappy deal and need a top up.
