CarPlay no sound.

It first started yesterday. It all seems to work, but no sound.

Today it worked ok for a while but when I reconnected it again was silent.

Any tips chaps please?

Try restarting your phone, assuming that’s what you’re connecting to in the car?

Done that.

Also stopped, locked and restarted the car.

In setting, general, CarPlay forget the car and then pair it up again by reconnecting it. Also make sure the iPhone isn’t on iOS 15.0 as that really messed up CarPlay.

Ah OK thanks. I am on 15.1. Is that a problem?

Don't really have a choice, that is the latest. Apple haven't admitted anything in the release notes but various people complaining in their forums about 15.0 reported it was better with 15.1. I still run into stupid issues with it not connecting the the headunit in the car ever since 15 but that might be due to also having a new iPhone 13 mini tat replaced by 2020 SE (never had an issue with that on iOS 13 or 14).

Your tips above sorted it.

Carplay still seems a bit flaky though and I don't really trust it yet.

I have been on 15.1.1 for a while, but 15.2 is now also available.
