Another Tablet recommendation thread
Discussion
I know there's been quite a few of these threads in the past, but i'm going through my annual Black Friday / Christmas Tablet deliberation. I usually come to the conclusion that I have no real use for a Tablet and am more than happy with a laptop and return what I bought or ditch the idea until sales come around the following year
Nevertheless, i've been doing my research and starting to feel a bit lost with it all. In the Black Friday panic I ended up buying this Lenovo for £150. I did some research and it seemed to have ok reviews, 4gb RAM, 64gb storage and the option to add an SD card to it. I felt I was getting a good deal.
Crtieria: I wasn't looking to spend more than £300 ideally - definitely not the price of iPads and the top Samsung tablets. The tablet will generally be used for internet, YouTube, Netflix, maybe a little bit of financial trading, playing some crappy Android games and there's a chance I may try out some more intensive games - or even potentially the Xbox cloud gaming service. Good battery life is always a bonus, as is a quality screen (looking at the 10 inch size) / speakers.
After further research into the Lenovo I purchased, I found that the battery life isn't great (maybe about 7 hours in the real world). It's on Android 9 and Lenovo don't update the OS often so could potentially end up with being unable to run certain apps in future. The device has eMMC which supposedly isn't as good as an SSD. Netflix won't play in HD either. Saying all that, it's a nice looking thing and i'm sure would do internet browsing and the basics fine.
There was the Lenovo P11 Plus which I was also considering but it wasn't available online at the time. I saw the 6gb RAM, 128gb storage was going for £179.99 although this may have been a pricing error. It's listed as £229.99 (£50 saving) if you can find it anywhere in the shops. The P11's seem to be a bit more powerful and newer than my £150 M10.
The issue I have is that the Tablet is a purchase which I intend will serve for me a few years at least so should consider spending a bit more if necessary. The problem is you get into the 'it's only an additional £40 to get something with better specs" trap.
The Samsung S6 Lite seems to have a lot of good reviews. Sadly it's going for £329 and not easily available online - if I bide my time may be able to get it under £300 but not overly bothered about £30. Storage is 64GB with expandable microSD. Is this the one to go for?
A few quick thoughts about brands:
Apple - Expensive , don't want to get tied into Apple software. Although understand everyone seems to sing their praises.
Amazon - Not too keen on having to use the Amazon software / app store. Also seem to have good reviews.
Huawei - Quite nice looking things but can't use Google store / apps?
Lenovo - A bit cheaper than Samsungs and seem to get more bang for your buck in terms of spec. Software may not be as good as Samsung and OS isn't updated often.
Microsoft - On the pricey side and seems intended to be more like a computer.
Samsung - Seem to get very expensive but A7 or S6 Lite are close to the budget.
Any other recommendations or thoughts about the Lenovo?

Replaced our Lenovos (Tab 4 10 plus) with Samsung S6 Lites back in June.
There was a promotion on Amazon at the time, so got them for £259 each (64Gb WiFI model).
Been pleased with them so far, would buy again.
That's a good price. I don't really fancy paying over £300 for it if possible and i'm not in a rush so don't mind waiting. There was a promotion on Amazon at the time, so got them for £259 each (64Gb WiFI model).

Was there a lot of bloatware on the Samsung? Were you happy with the Lenovos generally?
